Not Good February 5, 2010 Tool-Man (WA USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very dissapointed in Sony since ive heard such great things about their laptops. Had it for all of 2 weeks before the touch pad froze up and then the entire keyboard froze up. Ended up sending back to Amazon for a refund. It looked good though.
Good Stuff January 24, 2010 A. Bradley The VAIO VGN-NW270F is a great product. Very sleek and stylish. The operating system, Windows 7 is great. I love the size of the monitor. At 15.5' it is great for watching movies on the go. With the built in blu-ray, it's perfect for travel. The only downside is the short battery life, so keep that AC adapter close by. Overall, good stuff. I would buy it again if I had it all to do over again.
Good Choice For a Laptop January 23, 2010 MomOfThree (Northern NJ) I bought this laptop in pink from Amazon for $730 in December. I wanted a laptop for surfing the Net, watching videos and Hulu, and managing my pictures. This is probably too much laptop for me, but I wanted Blu-ray and well as good sound. My second choice was a Toshiba Timeline, which got good reviews except for the sound. I was also getting used to my husband's Mac and didn't want anything too "cheapy". I've been very pleased.
The computer itself is great looking. The pebbled metal doesn't show fingerprints. I bought the pink because it was cheaper than the silver, but I am a fan of pink anyhow. It's more of a silver pink, not an obnoxious pink. It's not something, however, that most guys would want. (My husband leaves it alone.)
The graphics are great. The keyboard is huge and took no getting used to. The quick web access button is fabulous. It gets you online in seconds. The computer is quiet, unlike our HP. It also stays pretty cool, unlike my husband's Mac, which is a great thing since it usually sits on my lap. Most laptop bags don't fit this, so it took me a while to find one I liked.
The only negative is the poor battery life. I only get about 2 hours and 15 minutes at best. That isn't a big deal for me, but you'll probably want to pass on this if you usually rely on the battery.
Who needs a Mac? December 28, 2009 S. Valdez (Fort Worth, TX USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i ordered this laptop on Amazon when I saw it for sale at $699.00, but then got an email from Amazon telling me they were cancelling my order because of the item's availbility, I got so mad, but then 5 days later I saw it on Best Buy for the same amount, ordered through Bing Cash back and I only hade to pay $22.00 more than on Amazon (including Tax).
So far I love this laptop, very quiet and fast, the keyboard is excellent, even though I am not interested in watching Blue Ray discs on it, it is a plus that made me go for it.
Design is nice too, used the battery with Wi-Fi for an hour and downloaded about 2 Gb of files from internet and I still had an hour or so remaining of battery power.
Very Light, only 6 lb.
And of course, Sony's movie editing software is awsome.
I definately would reccomend it.
Great features,price,looks,one FATAL flaw December 28, 2009 P. J. Neubauer (WI,USA) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I purchased the sony vaio VGN-NW270F. Initially I was happy with it and the blue-ray. Shortly however I noticed when I charged the laptop to 100% and turned the laptop off,24 hours later the battery would be at 90% or less. This issue is common on ALL newer vaios, google it if you do not believe me. Search "Sony Vaio battery drain". Sony will not release a "fix" for it,in fact in one customer service report they describe this as a feature. The battery life never exceeds 2.5 hours either (4 hours listed). I jumped the gun big time buying this laptop. Do your research, now I will take a 85% hit in return price and need a new laptop for school starting January.
