• The Angora rabbit is one of the oldest breeds of domestic rabbit. It was developed in Ankara (Angora), Turkey.
• Angoras were first brought to Europe as pets to French royalty in the 18th Century. By the 1900s they were popular all over Europe.
• The coat of the Angora rabbit is soft and silky because each individual hair is extremely fine. Its fur is also exceptionally light because the hairs are hollow.
