Amazon.com Product Description
The Toshiba WB02-Kit5-50 PoE Network Camera Solution Kit is a high-resolution solution suited to surveillance applications where remote access and configuration is highly desirable. This camera features a direct Ethernet connection for network access, and two-way audio communication that allows you to hear from, and speak to, a camera location. Designed to provide a consistently high-quality image even in the low-light conditions, the Toshiba IK-DP20A is a great addition to any video surveillance system.

This network camera utilizes a 0.33-inch interline-transfer CCD (charge-coupled device) image sensor with a standard CS-mount lens that employs 771 by 492 effective pixels. The IK-DP20A provides a high resolution of 480 horizontal TVL (TV lines), and a clean image with a S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio of 50 dB or better. This camera features an automatic electronic shutter control with speeds from 1/60 to 1/100,000 of a second. Sensitive enough for low-light conditions, the IK-DP20A can receive a usable picture at a minimum illumination of 0.2 Lux. The Toshiba IK-DP20A can run on 24-volts AC and 12-volts DC power via an external power adapter, or can receive power via its 802.3af Ethernet connection, and can operate in temperatures ranging from 14 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. This unit is mounted by a 0.25-inch threaded screw, holes for which are provided on both top and bottom.

The Toshiba IK-DP20A utilizes the JPEG compression format for video, and includes SDRAM for internal storage and SD Memory Card capability for recording at the camera. Allowing the camera to be powered by a 10/100 base-T Ethernet connection saves on extra installation time, cost and hassle of needing to install electrical outlets, and also continuous surveillance during power outages via battery backed-up LAN (local area network) power.

Technical Features:

  • S/N ratio: better than 50 dB
  • Minimum illumination: 0.2 Lux
  • Effective pixels: 771 by 492 pixels
  • Horizontal resolution: 480 TVL
  • Operating temperatures: 14 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Dimensions: 2.48 x 1.97 x 4.57 inches (W x D x H)
The Toshiba IK-DP20A camera provides you with a reliable high-quality color picture throughout the night. The IK-DP20A comes completely assembled and ready to use, with compact dimensions that make it compatible with smaller, less expensive housings. With the two-way audio over-the-network capability, this system provides a solution that can be especially useful for call-center monitoring and interactive support. Users should note that the CCD sensor may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the camera should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.
