Just An Okay Product March 17, 2010 Tom Jenkins (Orange County, CA) Generally disappointed with this item. The adapter functions as advertised, but has a very "cheap" and "fragile" feel to it. The adapter plugs can be difficult to extend/retract. It's also a bit bulky. I think you can save space/weight by just bringing individual adapter prongs instead of packing this unit.
did not work February 3, 2010 Planet (Boston, MA) on my last trip my friend had one she bought on the plane and it worked great. I bought this one recently, went overseas and it did not work... then came back and found out that the return window had expired... so basically paid for something that didn't work and can't even get my money back on top of the huge inconvenience given I hadn't brought with many the many adapters I used to carry with me... very, very unhappy!!!
Perfect and Compact January 17, 2010 PJC4359 (Minnesota) I have been using this style of plug adapter for years, and find them to work perfectly wherever I am at. To the reviewer who claims your grounded plugs will not work in this device, I can only tell you that I have not had any issue with my grounded plugs fitting into this device. The ground plug fits into the slot on the bottom. I have at least three of these in my computer bag, and use them all over the world without any issue whatever.
Get Extra Fuses if you can January 2, 2010 rjgsphinx (Marietta, GA) I was in Europe with this adapter and the internal fuse blew. Guess what, I could not find another fuse for it ANYWHERE and ended up buying a cheap adapter at the hotel. As large as this product is there should be an extra fuse (at least 1) in another compartment somewhere.
Plus, as noted in other reviews it will not accept 3 prong plugs.
Once I came home I tried to find a replacement fuse, still no luck. Threw the unit away.
Not recommended.
No problems November 12, 2009 Brent Haag (Shawnee, KS) I purchased this for a trip to Switzerland and it worked fine.
I will caution you that it does accepted a plug with a ground, but it does not provide a ground to any of the adapter plugs it contains...not sure why they designed it that way.
