Great Ghost Hunter Camcorder September 9, 2010

The LITTLE EGYPT GHOST SOCIETY recently acquired the Digital Blue Night Vision camcorder. We have found that it is an awesome piece of equipment for our paranormal investigations team. The night vision capabilities out perform our SONY Nightshot camcorder. Some of the best features of this camcorder are its ability to switch from day vision to night vision automatically, and being powered by 4 AA batteries. The night vision capabilities are quite impressive. The viewing screen is large enough and the IR range is great enough to navigate with in low and no light situations. It would have been awesome if our team would have had this device for our Waverly Hills Sanitarium investigation. We highly recommend this night vision camcorders to all paranormal investigation teams.

The power up makes a funny noise, but after that this camera is great. You can use it for stills or for video. The green backlight is very bright, so don't expect your night vision in your eyes to work well. It makes a beeping noise when it is getting ready to power off for non-use.

Amateur Paranormal Investigator. Agreed it is toy, but one that works well, adequately, and well worth its price. It is lightweight and is very easy to use. I attached it to my camera tripod (std issue), carried it around to take videos and pics and set it down for longer term videos with no shaking; it worked very well. The screen is a bit small and the night-viewing range in my experience is about 10-12 feet outdoors. It would be best if the buttons/controls had highlights underneath them to avoid mis-pressing the wrong button, but one quickly memorizes their locations so it's not a big deal. There is a handy button which shoots regular light out, but I used a head-band light. The quality of the pictures is fine and even the videos are great. One should avoid rapid movement to maximize the smooth flow of video. The option and use of a 2GB SD card allows for ~10,000 pics, plenty of room if you have one or two cards. Electrical cord for indoor all night use would have been a great feature, but no biggie, carry extra batteries. Video records audio which is also great. All in all, a great functional tool and easy on the wallet for any amateur paranormal investigator, or even for use by kids for night games.

I purchased this item and realized after purchasing it that I had bought a child's toy. I purchased it for night vision capabilities for paranormal investigation and it works wonderfully for that. I must say best mistake purchase of my life. It shoots very clearly. In total darkness of small rooms (it has built in ir lights) I have yet to see it in a larger area, I imagine I will be purchasing an external Ir light for this but it's really good none the less.

For the few tests I have done on this you are getting a good deal.
The clarity is amazing in close quarters. It is just enough to use in a room with the built in IR lights.
I use this mostly to take stills because the video option sucks up batteries as fast as you can put them in.
It has a tripod option where you can actually attach a separate IR lighting source if it has its own batteries, this will extend the range of it.
So when using this pack alot of batteries.
